The Most Important Ambassador Saint in the World: Saint Gabriel the Archangel. September 29 is a very special day, it occurs the Chief of Angels' Feast, the three Archangels Michael, Raphael and Gabriel.
Among the three Archangels, Gabriel was the Angel who served God as a Messenger. He is considered God's Ambassador of Good News. Gabriel's name derived from Hebrew language, it means "God is my Strenght","Man of God" or "Hero of God". The meaning of his name explains his role in the Old and New Testament.
The best-known example of Gabriel's role is the Annunciation. God sent the Archangel to Nazareth to the home of the Virgin Mary announcing Her the Coming of the Messiah. Even if Mary's Announciation is the last and the most-known in Christian religion, Gabriel is active in other places in the Bible, bringing Prophetic words from God.
The Archangel first appeared to Daniel predicting him the Messiah's coming. Saint Gabriel was sent to Zechrias, an old man, to announce the Birh of Saint John the Baptist.
According to sacred Scripture, the Messanger of God appeares to different people in different times announcing the Birth of children playing a very important role when adults. For this reason, he is considered Patron Saint of Children, of Communication and he assists all the people whose jobs involves with it.
