Cross of Saint Damiano in sterling on wood. The St. Damiano crucifix is one of the most venerated Crucifix in all the world. It is said that in 1206 this crucifix was probably hanging above the Altar of the abandoned Chapel of St Damiano. It was there, that a young man, Francesco Bernardone, Francesco of Assisi, entered and heard the voice of God commanding him "to rebuild my church." This beautiful crucifix is manufactured in Italy. Colored highlights accent the figure of Christ, standing up as a symbol of light.
